Again, Broadcom focused on the implementation of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) to improve Clarity’s accessibility for people with impairments. These improvements include, for example, color contrast compliant toaster messages, icons, picklist color picker, and banners. Additionally, people icons are now gender neutral. In the Grid Column Panel, you as a user have additional control to expand or collapse all sections.
Extended Possibilities for Your Project Management
Create Module for New Projects from Template
The “Create from Template” dialog has configuration options now. It allows you to add, edit, or remove fields from the dialog – analogous to the Properties page. These fields show up in the dialog and have to be filled with the required information.
Refactoring of Task Timeline
The Timeline view of the Task module has been revised and provided with new functions. In the Project and Customer Investment Type (CIT) Tasks module, phase bars do no longer disappear when collapsed. Furthermore, you can now show and hide columns for the timeline. The attribute “% complete” is now included in the default view.
Changes for To Dos
You now have the option to see all to dos of the entire system via a separate menu icon. The Common Component To Do Grid has the full functionality of a Common Component Grid (e.g., group by, filtering, and views). Additionally, To Do is now a configurable object, i.e. you can add custom fields and apply field-level security (FLS).
Efficient Top Down Planning
Modules Risk, Issues, and Changes
With the new Clarity version, Risks, Issues, and Changes are available on Custom Investments and Ideas, and have essentially the same functionality as on projects.
Productivity of Hierarchies
The Clarity release brings flexible new capabilities to enhance Hierarchies. The following new functions are available for Hierarchies:
- Definition of OBS security on Hierarchies
- Definition of Blueprints for Hierarchies including Channels
- Field-level security on Hierarchy objects for powerful governance controls
- Support for building Hierarchies through improved selection capability
- View and relabeling of Hierarchy metrics
- Metrics in the Grid view
- Attributes from all investment types can be added to cards in the Board view
- Columns for parent and hierarchy level in Grid
- Support of calculated attribute fields (metrics) in the Investment Grid
Configurability of Roadmaps
The new version uses several common components for the Board and Grid view of Roadmaps. In the Board view, you can configure the cards the way you need. You can also apply highly configurable filters (e.g. filter by picklist) and customize the Details flyout. The Roadmap Grid now has the group-by functionality and ability to export to CSV.
Resource Planning, Lifecycle, Business Intelligence & Mobile Improvements
Resource management in Clarity now also supports mixed bookings in the Staffing workspace. The Links module is now available for Ideas as well. Business Intelligence and mobile improvements include new risk management Jaspersoft reports and a new App for mobile time entry and approval, which will be released in late June.
Clarity Connections with Rally
With the release 15.9.2, Broadcom also introduced simple to use tools to map and synchronize Clarity and Rally objects and fields. This allows you to better connect the two solutions and to better move data between them. The established framework can also be used for other integrations, for example with Jira. This improvement is only available in the BETA version.
Product Architecture Stack
Clarity’s product architecture now also supports PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server 2019, and Jaspersoft 7.8.
Customer Voice
Broadcom implemented several further improvements based on the Customer Voice, including the following:
- Bulk editing in any common Grid component
- Enhanced per-period totals, totals, and scrolling view options through paging mechanism
- Channel pages as a new icon within the menu
- Mark for deletion as bulk action in the Grid view of Projects, Custom Investments, and Ideas
- Hide inactive departments from lookups
- Separate delete & edit permissions on all custom objects
- Adding an attribute ID to the Grid view to define field-level security
- Configurable login message in the Modern UX
- Definition of business rules on Blueprints to hide sections and modules
